About this project
A textile shop (Thread & Loom) that sells fabric by the metre, built with plain PHP 8 and PDO - no framework, no Composer packages and no build step. Shoppers browse and filter the fabric wall by fibre, weave, weight, width and use, search in plain language and pick a colourway, then set a cut length on a tape-measure picker that applies the cutting rules and shows live volume pricing. Swatches can be ordered and credited back, approved trade customers get trade pricing and bulk quotes, and stock is tracked by dye lot. Checkout handles guest or account orders, discount codes, delivery rules and VAT, places orders idempotently and issues signed invoices. Customer accounts cover order history, favourites and trade applications. A studio back-office with admin and warehouse roles manages orders, fabrics and colourways, stock lots, swatches, customers, quotes, discount codes and messages. It runs on SQLite with zero setup or on MySQL in production; product images are drawn as SVG from each fabric's colour, weave and pattern.
