About this project
A furniture and home decor store (Hearth & Oak) built with plain PHP 8.2 and SQLite or MySQL - no framework, no Composer packages and no build step. Shoppers browse by room, category and collection, search with autocomplete, filter and sort, and open product pages with variants, full dimensions, lead times and a live delivery estimate for their postcode. Guest checkout validates the address, prices delivery by zone with optional installation, books a delivery slot against daily capacity and reserves stock so limited pieces cannot be oversold; customers can track orders, download invoices, request returns and keep favourites. Buying guides, assembly and care pages, a trade programme, inquiries and a double opt-in newsletter round out the site. The role-based admin manages products and variants, taxonomy, CSV import and export, inventory, orders and dispatch, deliveries, promotions, customers, inquiries, an image audit and reports. It ships with CSRF protection, a strict Content Security Policy, sitemap and structured data, and unit, end-to-end and concurrency tests.
